Tendan Old Temple Jinkoh Aloeswood

Tendan Jinkoh – Old temple agarwood

Since ancient times agarwood (jinkoh, aloe) has been treasured as one of the most pleasant fragrances, not only for perfumes but anything that has been aromatized. Its origin is miraculous and totally natural. It is a tree from the Aquilaria genus that grows is Southeast Asia; Sometimes it is infected by a fungus as a result of wounds caused by insects, birds or branches that tear. The diseased tree produces a resin to protect itself, after a long period of aging it soaks the wood and produces its unparalleled aroma. . In Japanese, Jinkoh means ‘wood that sinks’ and it refers to the agar so impregnated with resin that it can no longer float. In ancient Japanese tradition it is the incense offered to the Buddah and used in Koh do ceremonies, the ancient traditional art of appreciating incense. It is an extremely rare substance and its value has been celebrated throughout history in anecdotes and legends. Its timeless and refined fragrance is a source of pleasure and tranquility. An exquisite, mysterious and mystical aroma. Incense with only light smoke. Since 1575 Nippon Kodo manufactures incense with superior quality raw materials, combining its treasured artisan tradition with the most updated technology.
